At Dog Dynamics our mission is to provide a support structure for dogs and owners which will result in a dog that can reach their full potential as a member of the family. Early socialization, learning important life skills and addressing behaviour issues timeously are key to helping dogs live in harmony with us and those around us.
Yvonne Zwiegelaar (Dip PDTST)
I became interested in dog training when I started training my own dogs 20 years ago and started teaching dog training classes in 1998. I have successfully participated in obedience, agility, breed shows, canine freestyle and dog carting at a competitive level. I am a qualified dog trainer and hold a Diploma in Professional Dog Training Science and Technology through the Companion Animal Science Institute (USA). I have also completed a Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour through the University of Pretoria as well as a Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour and Training through the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology in the UK.
I have volunteered/worked at various animal shelters. This gave me hands on experience working with many different dogs including difficult dogs. I have also fostered dogs and have reared numerous puppies. I have been working as a full time professional dog trainer teaching adult obedience classes, puppy socialisation classes and fun agility classes since 2007. I have a keen interest in the sport of canine freestyle. I am a member of Dancing with Dogs in Africa, Rally-Free Elements and I am currently on the committee of Dancing with Dogs in Cape Town. In 2011 I completed a course with top canine freestyler Michele Pouliot in Canine Freestyle through the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behaviour. In 2014 I completed the Puppy Start Right Instructors course through the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behaviour (USA). I am a full member of the Pet Professional Guild for Force Free Professionals. I keep up to date on the latest dog training trends through seminars and on-line courses. I have five wonderful dogs that share my life and they are my best teachers.

I started studying dog training and behaviour when I realised I needed more animals in my life. I completed the COAPE SA (Centre of Applied Pet Ethology South Africa) certificates: DogWise and Think Cat and went on to complete COAPE SA’s Advanced Diploma in the Practical Aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training.
I am affiliate member of CAPBT SA (COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers South Africa). I am the proud mom of three rescue dogs, one of whom is blind, and we intend to take the canine freestyle world by storm.
